Returns Policy

Most of what we make is built to your spec. Custom items can't be returned for change of mind, but defects are always covered. Here's exactly how returns work.

The Short Version

Defective products: Full refund or replacement, no questions asked. Contact us within 48 hours of delivery for shipping damage, or within 12 months for manufacturing defects.

Made-to-order products: Cannot be returned for change of mind. This includes custom door trims, steering wheels with chosen finishes, panic straps with chosen colours, and any product configured at checkout.

Stock items: Returnable within 14 days of delivery, in unused original condition. A restocking fee may apply.

Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law are not affected by this policy. Where a product fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you are entitled to a refund, replacement or repair as required by law.

What's Returnable, What's Not

Returnable

  • Items that arrive damaged in transit
  • Manufacturing defects (faulty stitching, seam separation, board cracks)
  • Products that don't match the description on the site
  • Wrong product shipped (our error)
  • Unopened stock items within 14 days (restocking fee may apply)

Not Returnable

  • Custom door trims (your specified stitching, colour, pattern)
  • Steering wheels with chosen finish or stitching colour
  • Panic straps with chosen paracord colours
  • Embroidered or personalised products
  • Products damaged by improper installation
  • Products damaged by misuse, accident or modification
  • Normal wear and tear

Why no change-of-mind returns on custom items? Every custom product is made to your exact specifications. We can't resell a Sunset stitching trim with white thread that someone else ordered Black. Please review your selections carefully at checkout.

How to Make a Return

Email Us First

Send an email to deegan@corbyscustomsco.com.au with your order number, a clear description of the issue, and photos. Do not ship the product back without authorisation.

We Assess Within 48 Hours

We'll come back to you with a decision and next steps. Most issues are resolved on the photos alone without needing the product back.

Return Authorisation

If a physical return is needed, we'll send you a return authorisation with shipping instructions. For valid claims, we cover return shipping at our cost.

Refund or Replacement

Once received and inspected, refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5 business days. Replacements are queued into production immediately (3 to 4 week turnaround for most products).

Special Cases

What if my product arrives damaged in transit?

Report it within 48 hours of delivery. Email us photos of the box (outside and inside) and the damage. We cover full replacement or repair at our cost. We'll need photo evidence to claim against the courier.

What if my product fails after a few months of use?

Manufacturing defects are covered for life under our Lifetime Craftsmanship Guarantee. Stitching pulling apart, leather separating from the board, CNC board cracking, and similar manufacturing failures are repaired or replaced at our cost.

What if I ordered the wrong product or variant?

Custom and made-to-order items cannot be returned for change of mind or ordering error. Please double-check your vehicle compatibility and variant selections before ordering. If you're unsure, email us before purchasing.

What's the restocking fee for stock items?

For stock items returned within 14 days in unused original condition, a 15 to 25 percent restocking fee applies, depending on the product. This covers our handling, repackaging and re-listing costs.

Do I have to pay for return shipping?

For valid claims (damage, defect, our error), we cover return shipping. For change-of-mind returns on stock items, you pay return shipping plus the restocking fee.

How long until I get my refund?

Once we receive and inspect the returned product, refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5 business days. Depending on your bank or payment provider, the funds may take an additional 3 to 10 business days to appear.

What if my installer damaged the product?

Installation damage isn't covered. We strongly recommend using a qualified automotive trimmer or installer. If you're not sure who to use in your area, email us for a referral.

Can I exchange instead of refund?

Yes for eligible items. Email us with what you'd like to exchange to. For custom items, exchange is not available.

Your Consumer Rights

Our policy is offered in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010). Where any product fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you are entitled to:

  • A refund or replacement for a major failure
  • Compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage
  • Repair or replacement if the failure is minor and can be remedied

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be lawfully excluded.
